Default oil pressure

( 2001 dodge ram pick-up 5.2 liter) 4 months ago my oil pressure dropped to zero while drivivg and my check gages light came on. I changed the oil and filter and I thought it fixed the problem. 2 months ago it happened again. I changed the oil and filter, worked fine until yeaterday. Did the same thing, oil/filter change. Drove it a couple of miles and the same thing happened, no oil pressure. This is getting old. Please help.

ok, here is some more info. When I start the truck in the mornings, there is a fast ticking sound from the engine before oil pressure is indicated by the needle. As soon as the oil pressure needle indicated pressure, the ticking noise goes away.
When I make hard left turns, oil pressure drops to zero and the "check gages" light comes on. Approx 15 seconds later the pressure comes back up and the light goes out. any ideas???

ok well i would start at the oil pressure sending unit i had ong go bad on me, but you mentioned the ticking noise that usually means that the motoe is not getting oil now i would drop the pan and see if mabe the oil pickup has a hole in it and is sucking air durning start up and when you turn anso sucking air and mabe even the fell off or is loose and untill there is enough suction to suck it up to place you suck air and durning turning the oil in the pan un seats the seal
or ihe whole thing could just be shot and you need a new one but i would take the pan off and cheack it out whats it going to cost you for gasket and some oil to cheack it out let me know what you find
