Default 1999 Dakota 5.9 R/T

OK so as the title says I have a 5.9 R/T.
The tranny has been acting up in the last few days and having an ir-regular shift pattern.
Fluid just changed 5k ago and the level is full and the truck is not beaten.

Is this gonna cost me a few $$$$?

Should I start looking for a tranny?

What is the "Model "number of the that came in these trucks?

It could be your governor actuator switches. I think I would look at replacing the transmission output sensor and rear speed sensor.

Could you point out where these items are located on the truck?

The transmission output sensor Is located on the outside of the trans. The rear speed sensor is on the rear end. Now I'm talking about a Durango not a Dakota. But they should be similar. The governor actuator switches should be on the valve body inside the trans.

Kensai <----- in the Durango 1st generation forum has some info you could ask for, or search for his past posts.
