oil pressure

I have a 99 2.5L avenger my gauge always reads a little more than half way up is this to high? shouldnt it be at about 1/2? sometimes like on the interstate I see it at almost 3/4?

Gauges on the cluster is just an extagration of the actual oil pressure. Chrysler Service Manual states: Check oil pressure using gauge at oil pressure switch location. Oil pressure should be 41 kPa (6 psi.) at idle or 241 to 517 kPa (35 to 75 psi.) at 3000 RPM.

There is nothing wrong with high oil pressure, it just means you don't have any leaks. There are problems that can cause high pressure, but they are not very likely. The gauge is basiclly an idiot gauge. It is not very accurate nor well built. I would not worry about it.
