Default knock knock

My new engine started making a new noise today.
Its a "3.0" EFI engine... I know that new engines have to break in and all
but i've never had a new engine before. So i dont know if new noises are
normal or if my engine is eating itself...
It's a light slap or tapping noise. Perhaps im hearing the rockers in motion
or some moving part has just set into place and is now making the "normal" noise its made to make. It's making me sweat bullets though

If you have and info on new engine noise or know anything at all
about new parts and how to break'em in pls tell

Noise like that on a new or rebuilt engine is not unusual. "Break-in" CAN be noisy. Assuming you got a warranty on your new engine, just make sure to follow the break in directions and if the noises persist, take it in before the warranty expires....[&:]

I hope that you have an oil pressure gauge, if not then buy one. Oil is your engines lifes blood and without it and it's ability to pump up and around it dies. The oil light won't come on until the oil pressure drops below 5 psi.[sm=smiley5.gif]

****, The light has been comming on every time i come to a stop or
hit the clutch fast.(only for about 3 sec)
It happens when the revs come down with no gas(ie stopping)
I can make it stop if i touch the gas just before i stop with the clutch in...
I will get the gauge.

You better take it in for the warranty, obviously your oil pressure is far too low. There is something very wrong with your engine.[sm=smiley26.gif]

This is one of the many reasons why I hate idiot lights, they don't come on until it's too late and your screwed.[sm=smiley35.gif][sm=smiley7.gif] Gauges, get and use gauges.[sm=smiley20.gif] This way you can tell if and when something starts to go wrong and fail before it leaves you stranded and broke due to very costly repairs.[sm=smiley2.gif]

I may have solved the problem...
I screwed the idle in 1 and a 1/2 turns and it seems to have taken care of it. Now it idle's at 900-1000rpm
However i will be watching the gauges

I found out what the ticking noise was.
When the car is stopped and the clutch is out it will tick, but when the clutch is in, it stops instantly. Bad clutch, flywheel cracked, pessure plate??
What would make it tick when ingaged and stop when it is disingaged?
Odd eh![&:]
It seems to be that the engines only problem was the idle screw.
