in response to where to hook up the glow lights.. this is what i did (not lights on the pedal but i hooked up running lights on the top of the truck) in the fuse box find the fuxe labled "illumination" and use a test light to make sure your hooking up through the fuse.. mine was a 5 amp. i replaced the 5 amp with a 10 amp and made sure i hooked it up to the circuit side and not the power side so my running laps were protected.. now they work with the dimmer switch. when i dim the inside lights.. the running lights dim with them.

by the way.. it sounds like you might have had one of those lights shorting just a bit to produce a circuit error.. hence your code.. if you hook them up through the fuse.. at least they will be protected from short circuit
