check engine light and new radio
Howdy Group,
I recently bought a 2k1 dodge ram 1500 slt wit hthe 5.9 everything was fine but yesterday I had a new radio installed.
Later that afternoon I noticed the check engione light was on.
Would disconnecting the battery or maybe a wiring difference in the radio cause this?
Makes no sense to me.
With this truck could I actually use the key on-off procedure to either view the codes on the odometer or via the "blink"?
Thanks in advance
Carl

Forgit it!!,
I found the issue, seems the battery was disconnected during the install and the PCM re-ran the diagnostics and found an error.
There are 2 small leaks in the exhaust 1 before the muffler and one after.
This is showing the O2 sensor reading high thus a check engine light .
A new exhaust should hopefully fix this,I was looking to split it anyway.
