I have a 1994 dodge dakota sport. It has a couple of mods like a body lift, graphics, system,. I had dual straight pipes on it but i was sick of fix it tickets so i had it replaced with a standard custom exhaust. Everytime i go visit my girlfreind i get pulled over for my exhaust. I live in michigan and the state police are to lazy to get under and look at everything so they give me verbal warnings. Now i dont have a cataytic converter but from what i believe in michigan you dont need one if the vehicle is over ten years old is this a myth.

 

Michigan is not a smog testing state. The only reason why they tell you you need one is to keep the noise down.
