Dodge Ram - '95...

I drive about 20 miles and it starts cranking down, sputtering, backfiring. If I shut it down for about 6-7 minutes, I crank it, it sputters a little, and then gets going again. 20 miles later, same deal. I just had the Converter, exhaust and muffler replaced. What else could it be?

Sounds like fuel pump to me too, next time it acts up up climb on the ground and hit the bottom of the tank with a BIG plastic hammer. Hit it pretty hard,.

Yeah, we had a Jeep in the PD that did the same thing...we just traded it in on a Ford "Police Special", you know, the ones with the gas tanks that tend to explode.....happy days...[:'(]
