99 Dodge Ram 1500 - Cannot go over 35mph
1999 Ram Sport, 360 V8, AT. 117,000 Miles.
Recently had some shifting trouble. When accellerating it had to get to a high rpm, or I would have to let off the gas and then it would shift. Well I had the fluids checked, and all was at good levels. It did this last year, I put in a new transmission filter and some Slick 50 trnsmission conditioner and it ran great up until now. But to make matters worse, now the engine seems to have trouble. It will not go over 35mph. If you hit the gas to go faster it acts like it is bogging and sounds very foggy. The transmission is also not shifting normally again. So I am not sure if I have a fuel problem, or a tranny problem. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance for any assistance you all can offer.

Does the check engine light work and do you have any codes?
Engine problem sounds like lack of fuel pressure OR clogged exhuast. Timing chain can also cause this.

i have no idea what could be wrong with it but even if its not under warranty (im assuming its not because of the yr model) just take it to your dodge dealer. they might charge you but at least you know it will be fixed correctly.
