RE: Chrysler 300C: The Next Bling Thing?
Picked up my 300C Monday. Out here in Detroit, we have ~20 dealers. Last friday there were a total of 4 loaded 300C's in stock that weren't already taken split with 2 at 2 different dealers. I got one of them. Went to the first dealer who wanted $39K ($1000 over sticker) as an employee (should have been $33.5K). I laughed in his face, resigned myself to not having a 300C and went home for the weekend. Called the other dealership monday and they gave it to me for $35.8K.
I traded in my 02 Escalade for it; better in almost every way (speed, handling, ride, MSRP!!!, cabin noise, stereo, headlights, nav system, transmission, driver seat room, steering, goes on and on). Has more lux featuers and feels higher quality overall. About the only things missing vs the Escalade are the push button fold-in mirrors, the rotate-down-on-reverse mirrors (which broke on the Escalade anyway) and the room to haul a water heater home from Home Depot. The only thing worse is the seats. Not the comfort - the 300C is much better there - but the leather quality. The leather is about the same quality as my girlfriend's $14,000 Saturn Vue, and half of the seat is cloth even with the "leather" seating.
It's almost perfect as is (seats the exception of course) but if I were to make suggestions:
>20" wheel/tire package - I normally hate "ghetto-izing" a vehicle with wheel/tire packages on non-sports cars, but they look AWESOME on these cars
>louder exhaust - I have 390 ft.lbs. on tap, I want to HEAR it, dammit!
>supercharger - just because I have driven the Viper
of course, the SRT-8 version of the 300 promises these features, so I may have to move up in a year or so.
Someone want to tell me what the point of a CTS-V/M3/Lincoln/etc... is?
