HOW DO YOU TURN YOUR OIL PUMP

Default HOW DO YOU TURN YOUR OIL PUMP

How do you turn the oil pump on a 74 Dodge 360, Ive tried doin it with a screw driver and with an adjustable wrench locked onto the screwdriver but it aint budging. By the way Im doin this because Im installing an MSD distributor and need to rotate the oil pump. any help would be good

cant u just crank the engine a little bit, thats what u mean right, the gear?

Turn the motor over to #1 top dead center on the damper. Drop the distributor in with the rotor pionting at #1 intake port. This should get you close anough to start it. The shaft is driven by the cam gear
