Default Oil pressure sometimes inconsistent, regains when accel..

Sometimes my oil pressure drops pretty low at idle / park, and then I have to rev the engine or start driving for it to regain its pressure. Is this normal? Is the pump going out? Thanks for any help. The check gauges light does NOT go on, but once in a while my oil light goes on and stays on for a while.

It could be a few things.
Low oil, bad pressure sending unit, clogged filter, thin or dilutted oil, pump (or parts attached to the pump) could be bad.
I'm sure someone will post that has had a problem like yours and tell you what their problem was, but, I'd assume just drain the oil, take the oil pan off, and take a gander at the pump (their not much) and it's connected hardware replace what needs to be replaced, and maybe replace the pressure sending unit.
*however, use your troubleshooting skills and start with the simple things first*

My 96 5,2 was doing the same thing and a new sending unit took cars of the problem. Good luck.
