Oh yeah. It will fit. The tranny would need a higher stall converter, and a good freshening up. I'm not sure a stock computer would work in this set-up though. You'd probably have to go with an aftermarket FI computer to run the thing if you wanted to keep it FI. Another consideration is emissions. Good luck.
aite thanx i was just wondering because i saw that engine and its the same size but i wasnt sure if it would fit on to the tranny just out of curriocity i wondered if it would fit
the prices of those moters made my but pucker just looking at them. they r beutiful moters and i would jump at one in a minute but the price and the thought of bending over when y pay made me pucker. make sure you get the moter that is for the accessorys u have as some r not for use in vehicals with air conditioning. u might want to go with a short block then get heads and a manifold. may be cheaper. anyhow good luck.
I was always partial to the 360, 4 bolt main engines myself. Lots more rpm's!! Not to mention all the extra things you can do to the thing. You can just beat it to death and as long as you keep up maintenance you should never break the thing. As far as Fuel injection or whatever goes you can put whatever intake setup on it you want.
You actually come out a little better on the crate engine than doing the entire job yourself and buying new parts.
The steel head crate engines will have the holes for accessories, but the manifolds may not. Like they say though, "Where there's a will, there's a way."
That 395 HP motor is nice though.
