Sry, I wish I knew more bout the older engines. Is the SuperCommando the main 440 for dodge? Or is the Hemi? Sorry if I sound dumb.

"Super Commando" was just the Plymouth name for the 440 The Dodge name for it was "Magnum"...which is where the newer Magnum V8s get their name from. It was also known as the "TNT" when found in Chrysler cars.

The 426 HEMI was a COMPLETELY different block and motor. There was a 426 wedge motor (in the same family as the 440), and people often get it confused with the HEMI.

As for information on the RV 440, you may want to head over to www.ramchargercentral.com Those guys are all about 70s and 80s era motors and motor swaps and would have more info than anyone here.

I can't find info on my 78' Dodge Journey motorhome. I was gonna pull the motor out and drop it in a car. I read the base power for a car with that motor near that year was around 400 - 450 HP. If anyone knows the specs on the 78' Dodge Journey motorhome with the 440 could you please post them. thx.
