i have 1999 durango with some problems 1) us when driving down da road the truck quits moving but the rpms are high you have to take it out of gear then put it back and it will move 2) is when in 4h it makes a whining noise when your in drive or reverse plzzz help ........

 

Problem #1 - Sounds like your transmission is slipping out of gear. Not good...not good at all. I have a feeling a transmission rebuild is in your future.

Problem #2 - Does it make the noise while you're sitting still or only when moving?

 

Yes the trans...replace it or rebuild it. If you enjoy the work like I do, and want to save some money. replace only the trans pump and filter.
