Yes, it is true, "or one year", Its not like we are hiding that detail . We are simply trying get the point across that it can last for 25k miles, it seemed that was your main argument. This detail is plastered all over the info on my other threads about AMSOIL and on the website. Sorry I didn't include that in every post I made in this thread.

Now that the, "or one year, whichever comes first" has been posted, I'm fine with it. It's just that alot of people will or do not read every post on a topic. Most will just read the first couple of posts and go from there without fully reading or checking into something. However, now that it's right in front of them, it's up to them to make an informed decision. I just wanted all the facts right here in front of them and now they are. I am still quite skeptical about the 25,000 mile part, but I am in favor of the one year part.

Thats about the same boat I am in...I too am considering trying out amsoil...in fact this summer it WILL go in my differental, and possibly my tranny. I may order the oil for my next change.

My problems....please do not take personal offense Syn, and Bill.... are with the majority of the dealers. This is not entierly their fault eather!

The are given their info, and materials right from the company its self. But some, like Amsoil itself seems to do, deliberatly make sure to stomp out any negetive feed back!

Here is a portion of a dealers web site I found a while back......

"I reserve the right, however, to delete any posts that I consider general complaints and adverse or derogatory of AMSOIL or me, and I will bar users from posting that get off base! This forum is meant to provide for a constructive exchange of ideas. This is my web page and I can and will administer it as I see fit. If you don't like it, go elsewhere. As such, do not expect to get a "fair and balanced" view of AMSOIL or its programs and products from this page"

[)oclgefre4k,

I have taken my fair shair of criticism on D.T. for promoting Amsoil. What I dislike is when someone goes out of their way to discredit Amsoil and it's abilities without ever using it in the first place. The primary Amsoil "trashers' use Mobil 1 and they frequent forums to do nothing but come up with arguments why you shouldn't use Amsoil. They add nothing substantive to the topics, other than a healthy dose of their opinions.

I have also seen Amsoil being trashed on other forums, but they were refering to the company and not the oil. One of the main reasons I switched out the Amsoil to Mobil 1 was a matter of availability and previous experience with Mobil 1. I also know someone, that I have previously mentioned, who lives by Mobil 1 due to his GT's 350,000+ miles and running better than most new GT's. Amsoil would sell better, and I might have been using it, if I could stop in at Autozone to get it.

Some people trash Amsoil as a company because it is sold via MLM. They think the company is corrupt and it's nothing more than a "pyramid scheme." I can personally vouch for their system of compensation. I started out as a preferred customer and liked how amsoil made my trucks run. I wanted nothing to do with being a dealer at first. I have a stay-at-home-wife and almost 2 year old daugheter and I wanted to build a side business to make life more comfortable. I started out selling gamebirds but found out that it wasn't very profitable. www.geocities.com/sgbofav .

I spoke to a dealer who sold Amsoil on a different forum and he got me excited about trying a dealership myself. Now its been 7 months andI have over 30 customers, 6 downline dealers and I sponsor two different forums. I never thought that this "side" business wouldbe sosuccesful.

As for being inconvienant to buy, I hear this often and have to disagree. The reason I disagree is because I know well in advance that I need to service my vehicle so I order my oil ahead of time.I don'tneedto take a trip to the "zone" because I already have what I need before I need it. Autozone doesn't want to sell an oil that you change once per year or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first) because they make less money on sales of other items as well as oil and filters. To them, it's all about profit to pay their store rent.

Hi I have just read this very long thread , and i have 2 questions.

My ex boss has been in the hobby of remote controlled Mini Jets for 10 years now and those turbines spool up alot of RPM,s so he keeps up with the best lubricants and lube additives .He told me that there is also a max time period that an oil need to remain in the engine along with the mileage recomendation so if you dont meet the 25,000 miles you atleast need to remove it in a years time

I think it was something to do with the fuel and combustion gasses makeing the oil acidic over time , not sure

ok second question , what did you think of the secondary oilfiltration system?

ps this is in no way ment to step on anyones toes

That is exactly why AMSOIL recommends you drain after 1 year if you
don't go the 25k in that time. With analysis, you may go longer,
depending on results.

Your boss is into the same hobbies as me, I'm not up to the jets yet.
But look forward to it. Right now, I just have electrics and small gas
planes.

tons of fun. Of course I use the AMSOIL in my gas engines.

I love my oil system!

take care
