Default Automatic tensioner 2000 dakota..

I am wondering if i broke it, i took a wrench and attatched it to the bolt and pushed to the right till i could get belt off and now it will not go back so i can have a nice new belt that doesnt squeak lol.. Is it broke or not? Just frustrated.

It sounds like it's time for a new tensioner. Sometimes you can soak it in penetrating oil and work the tesioner back and forth and get it freed up, but you should probably go ahead and replace it. If you try to free it up try not to get any oil on the new belt.
