Oil pressure gauge and check gauges light
I have a 2003 Durango with the 4.7 and occasionally when starting it the oil pressure stays at 0 and the check gauges light comes on. I shut it down and start it back up and the pressure jumps right up and the light goes off. Could it be the oil pressure sender or a much bigger problem?
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram HEMI.
Mine used to do the exact same thing, about a year ago. Pressure would drop, I'd get the ding and then the "Check Gauges" light. Stop the truck, shut it off and then back on and it was fine. Now, a year later, it did it again. This time, that fix didn't work.
Anyway, from all I can tell now, it appears my oil pump has gone bad. Not sure if this will be the same for you, but I thought I'd mention it.

Could be the sender
Next time it happens tap the gauge
See if it goes up it also can be a short in gauge
My ford did the same I changed the sender
Worked for a little bit then it started again would
Go up to normal pressure drop to 0psi I would tap it
And it went back to normal.
