Pacifica Gets Low Crash Rating
The Pacifica isn't billed as an SUV, wagon or mini-van. It's intended to be in its own new class "touring vehicle". In fact, if you look them up in places like the Kelley Bluebook, or the NADA guide or other places that reference used cars you will find that these places carry them under different categories...some call them wagons, some call them SUVs and some call them mini-vans.
Either way, they compare comparably to the segment known as "cross-over SUVs". More car than truck. Most car companies are trying very hard to come up with vehicles that meet the modern "soccer mom" desire for a "truck-like" or "SUV like" vehicle that exhibits more "car like" manners. These vehicles really aren't intended for offroad use although they do come with 4WD (or all-wheel drive) options. AWD is excellent for any vehicle in areas where there is snow or other poor traction elements regardless whether it is an SUV or not (Subaru figured that out a long time ago).

i dont no about this thing getting a low crash test rating. i leveled a metal mailbox at 40 in one of these teh otehr day with teh only damage to my pacifica being a chip out of the paint. this was a head on accident. im thinking if it can take that with absolutely no damage except for paint it has a 5 star crash test rating like chrysler claims.
