I also have a question. Why are they labeling station wagons like the Pacifica as SUV's? Thats as bad as the PT Cruiser being labeled a truck, it's more of an SUV than the Pacifica.
Eagle use to make 4X4 wagons and Subaru makes quite a few and everything they make is AWD. The Pacifica is shorter than all but one SUV, the chevy blazer, and in many cases it's much shorter at 66.3 inches tall as opposed to the chevy suburbans 79.9.
I looked up the Pacifica's rating on the IIHS-HDLI website and they say that the Pacifica is rated a Good in the 40 mph frontal impact test. In fact, it's a best pick. The poor crash results that you are posting here are probably the bumper testing for low speed impacts.

A guy on TV said it was based at least partly on bumper height...they are doing that to attract people who are looking for an SUV...evidently there are more of them than there are station wagon "wanters"...[sm=smiley4.gif]
