Do you have any data or link to support this? I was at PepBoys yesterday and two of my associates were arguing on YES its good and NO you need Mopar ATF. WTF...
Anyone else have some ideas, facts, links or data to support this.

If I remember right the Clymer manual for the Durangos has the 2000 Durango using dextron III and mercon. I may be wrong.
Thanks for the input Charlie.

According to the specifications I have read dextron III and mercon are ok in the older transmissions, I don't what year they changed to ATF + 4. + 4 is over $7.00 a quart and available only from Mopar dealers. From what I have heard, Chrysler has a patent on it and has a contract with the manufacturers of it where they can't put it on the open market.
try red line c+ it meets atf+4 requirements. www.redlineoil.com the reason no one has claimed that thier oil meets atf+4 requirements is because DC would not release the additive package that the fluid contains. so even though companies could test thier oil to meet the same requirements they could not advertise that it does, this has been a huge ongoing battle in court between DC and other oil producers.
