Doge Colt DL
Hi there, My name is Lacy and I am the Owner of a 1986 Doge Colt DL. The car still runs great, but I recently had the front brakes and Rotors replaced and now my brake pedal practically touchs the floor before I stop. This wasn't the case before I got them serviced. Strangely, the breaks work fine if I am at a stop light or sign moving slowly. It is when I have been going for a while then put on my breaks that they are slow. Also, if I pump them upthey are back to normal untilI get going again. Anyone have any Ideas on what the problem could be??[
] Oh yeah I forgot to say that I took my car back and had them bleed it again, they told me that there was air in the line, but when I left it was the same.

welcome to DF Lacy... take it back, get the shop manager to go for a ride with you and show them what its doing.Make them fix it. there might be another part (master cylinder) that could be causing your problem.
When i took it backto them, when they bled it again, they mechanic took it for a test drive to see what exactly was going on, he said it was just air in the line, he bled it, then drove it around the parking lot. The problem is that when at low speeds and short distances the brakes are fine, its when you are going faster and haven't used the brakes in a bit that the first time you push down it hits the floor and barely slows at all, but if you hit the brakes again immediately they are perfect. When i left to go home they seemed ok but when i finally needed to really use the brakes they pooped out on me, just like before. by that time the shop was closed and couldn't do anything.
