Default SRT-8 The Real Deal, At your dealer in Feb

[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]
Just received the upcoming weeks AutoWeek Magazine with the new Chrysler 300C SRT-8 on the cover.

This car WILL have the new 6.1 liter HEMI producing 425HP and 420 lb/ft. of torque!!!

The car is to go on sale February 2005 according to the magazine article. It is being previewed this weekend at the Pebble Beach Concourse D'Elegance in Monterey, Ca.

The article ends with Daimer-Chrysler responding to the question regarding a Magnum version. The response was that this was the engine for the Dodge as well!!!

Way to go Daimler-Chrysler [sm=goodidea.gif]

Did you read anywhere as to whether the 6.1 will have the same cylinder deactivation?

My mom is looking into selling her 93 Ford Explorer to buy an 04-05 Durango. I'm going to try to talk her into buying that SRT8 300C.

The 6.1 will NOT have the MDS or Cylinder deactivation. That is saved for the 5.7 The 6.1 is a performance engine and in that case saving fuel is not a concern.
