changing the muffler and tailpipe couldnt effect the backpressure enough to make a difference...with the pressure created by the exhaust manifold and todays catalytic convertors, changing the back section coudlnt do much..

ok my turndown is a three inch pipe about a foot and a half long (that's it). Thats all that I have done. It may be all in my mind but if it's not I would like a suggestion. The whole backpressure thing confuses me, if you lose backpressure you lose power and if you have too much you lose power right? The only other mod is the drop in K&N filter.

but the CAT and the rest of the system should create more than enough back pressure...look at the fact that people are putting free-er flowing headers and CATS on the hemis...and gaining performance...so just the backpressure that you lifted shouldnt hurt...

Now that makes sense. V8's are not known to need much if any backpressure, it has primarily been a small engine thing.

Yep, pretty much. It will move your torque curve up with the horsepower curve, not to mention their peaks.
