Edelbrock Hemi Ram Headers Now Available
Edelbrock now has headers for the new Hemi Rams '03-'04. You can get them chromed or ceramic coated and they are a perfect fit. They are good for peak gains of 9 WHP and 11 WTQ with greater gains elsewhere in the RPM range all on a stock Hemi Ram. For further information contact Edelbrock or check out the current issue of Mopar Muscle (June 2004) on newstands now, they have a great article on them(install and testing).[sm=smiley2.gif]
Did it say anything about a price? Also, for all of us 04 Hemi Ram owners... I've read so much about intakes and exhausts not making a difference on the 04 b/c of computer issues. Will the headers make a difference, or is the 04 still out of luck?

Good question. I suppose the headers would show an increase. The test truck was a 03. The mid-range was where the big increases were. I don't have the mag with me, but they were greater than the peak.
They do not say if it is any different for the 04's in the article.
The headers maximum gain over stock is as follows:
34 lb-ft Torque gain over stock @ 4,000 RPM
28 Horsepower gain over stock @ 4,000 RPM
The maximum gain at peak engine output is as follows:
11 lb-ft Torque gain over stock @ 4,600 RPM
9 Horsepower gain over stock @ 5,400 RPM
The headers maximum gain over stock is as follows:
34 lb-ft Torque gain over stock @ 4,000 RPM
28 Horsepower gain over stock @ 4,000 RPM
The maximum gain at peak engine output is as follows:
11 lb-ft Torque gain over stock @ 4,600 RPM
9 Horsepower gain over stock @ 5,400 RPM
I'm not well educated in the way of automobiles, but I'm always eager to learn. Does the addition of aftermarket headers change the sound of the truck? I understand that the headers have to deal with the exhaust so I'd assume they would change the tone of the truck. Am I right or wrong. Also, how long would it take a professional to install headers on a Ram?

I have no idea how long it would take to install them on a Ram. It will change the sound a little, but it shouldn't make it too much louder than stock.

The guy that had the magazine with the write-up is a freind that works for a local Midas shop. he said it would probably take a couple hours. I may give Edelbrock a call today and see if the kit will work on an 04 RAM. I'll surely post what I find.
Thanks for the info mopartodd. A couple hours to install sounds pretty good. If you talk to Edelbrock please share what they say. I'm interested to see if it works for the 04'.

W might be jumping the gun on the 2004 headers. I have the Mopar Muscle issue, and it doesn't mention the 2004 at all. I took a look at Edelbrock's website and only saw the 2003 Hemi headers. Those dual cats in the 2004 don't leave much room for headers. Doug's is the only set that I have found so far, but there could be more out there.
