Default ’03 Ram Exhaust

I posted this in the Dodge Ram section as well but I though I would post it here too. I have an '03 Dodge Ram Lone Star Edition and was wondering if there is an exhaust someone would recommend. I'm looking for something relatively cheap seeing that I am still in college. Any and all recommendations are appreciated.

Well, the Rams already come with a 2.5 inch exhaust, and with your truk being new your tail pipe should be in good contitions still.

So rather than wasting your money on a cat back system you can go out and get just the muffler and trow that on yourself (or you can take it to a shop to do if you dont have the means for a drivway job).

If you want a good inexpensive muffler I would go with Flowmaster or Magnaflow. Any speed shop should have Flowmasters in stock and Belle Tire is a Magnaflow dealer.

I havea Magnaflow3" in and 2 2.5" out, this isn't my 1st or 2nd one either, I love'em, the muffler shop cut into my cat (voids warranty on the CAT) but performance gain was noticable and sounds great!

Check my site out! http://members.***.net/bardude84/Ram.htm

I paid about $400 out the door, 110 in tips and tax and all. The muffler is about 100 depending on the pipe and labor.

I had one more quick question. I think I will just go ahead and buy just the muffler and have it welded in. I think I will go with Flowmaster since they sound awesome. Does anyone know which size to get. 2.5" offset in 2.5" center out. Should I get the 40 Series, 40 Series Delta Flow, 50 Series. I have no idea. On my mustang, I have the original 40 series with an o/r pipe and it sounds sweet, but I don't know how a 40 series will sound on a truck.

There is no comparison that magnaflow is a better productthan flowmaster. Magnaflow uses a resonator design as opposed to the standard mufflerthat haslouvers and channels like the flowmaster. Magnaflow uses a straight pipe surrounded by steal mesh andsound deadeningacoustic material. You get greater HP gains because of this along with an awsomebig bore sound. I have tried everytype of exhaust on previous cars and magnaflow blew them all away! I am going to ordera magnaflow cat backoff ofebay motorsfor my new hemi quad cab. It is a singleresonator, 3" side exit pipe with a 12" chrome tip.

i have an 02 ram 5.9 and i put a 2.5 offset in and 2.5 center out ORIGINAL, NOT DELTA, 40 series flowmaster on... and it sounds great.. got the flow off ebay brand new in box for 35 bucks,, and cut and welded it on the truck myself..

dont know why, but when u first put a flowmaster on, it sounds sorta quiet, but the more you drive and the longer its on the loader it gets..

I had dual single chamber flows on my 00 mustang gt and did the same thing..

but dont know why, cause theres no packing or anything inside to burn up..

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L 4x4 manual. I had FlowMaster system installed and the noise gets "old" on long trips. I love the sound but the interior noise is a pain. Any recommendations for sound deadening, DynaMat, B-Quiet?

Thanks!

Never mind - removed the 40 Series and went with 70 Series....sounds better inside.
