Default True Duals

Recently i have been looking into trying to add true a dual exhaust (Onepipe coming from eachheader)on my 2000 Durango. I have run into a problem though with the third O2 sensor located before the CAT but after the headers join. I've thought of running an X-pipe and putting the O2 sensor there but the problem with that is room underneath the car. Does anyone have any ideas on how to run true duals short of replacing the thirdO2 sensor with a dumby sensor. I have also looked into bigger pipes but dont want to lose back pressure.

Iwas actually looking into a body kit that allows you to run the exhaust out of the new running board and in front of the rear tires. Only problem is that i would have to put the "X" pipe right after the headers and place the O2 sensor there. After thatI would run the two pipes side by side down space where the stock exhaust is and then rought the drivers side pipe back over to the other side of the truck. It is a pretty tight squeeze under there and no exhaust shops want to do that kinda custom work especially when the CAT is involved and the O2 sensor. So for now i am kinda stuck.</P>

If you can't use an X-pipe you can have the O2 sensor installed into one side or the other with the same results.

So what you are saying is that i don'tneed a mixture of air from both headers for the O2 sensor to work properly and the computer wont mess up any fuel mixture ratios. I wasnt sure if that was the case but if it is that makes things a lot easier for me.

u could get an o2 simulator and get rid of the 02 for good, cause if ya run true duels( as u mentioned before) the sensor will always compensate for the mixture not coming in on thatotherside, good luck getting the way ya want

the truely best and most accurate way to do it, if you want to keep the cat which, other than emmisions I can't see why is to firgure out the voltage on the O2 by ringing it out and goto radio shack and get a resitor that will show half voltage, put an O2 on wither side and be "emmsions compiliant".

We ran true duals on a 96 s10 with that same problem, we just cut a hole in the right side pipe, welded the fitting in, and put the 02 sensor there.

Like RR said, no problems at all
