As a b day present my wife bought me a Borla exhaust system. However, after it came in I found that it was made for a 2000 dakota RT, not my 3.9 4x4, the pipe comming in is the same as stock 2.5 inches but afer it leaves the muffler it turns to 3" and the tip's about 3.5. I haven't gotten under the truck to see how I'm going to get it to fit, but my question is, should I expect some major problems??? I'd hate to send the product back or sell it, this was orginally an 800 dollar exhaust system and my wife found it for 210! just looking at the difference insteel quality and size of the tail pipe I think it's going to sound great. Any insight would be most helpful.

 

Well I finally took it in to a muffler shop and it only ran me 80 bucks to have the new universal high output cat and the exhaust system put on. The borla exhaust system was almost the size needed but not quite, a little cutting and welding was needed. The system is quiet while idling and has a nice low growl when I accelerate. I noticed immediate change in throttle response and decreased acceleration time. I'm very impressed with my borla system

 

I have '05 Daytona Ram with Borla and just love it. Not a lot of rumble at idle,but step on it and hear her growl. Enjoy it!

 

Yeah I love it,it has a nice growl when you start it, very low rumble at idle, but it's awesome when you step on it! I'm very happy with it.
