just bought a 2003 4x4 with the 4.7 motor, love the truck, problem is is it has a 3" body lift with 315/70/17" tires so when I am cruising around 60mph it kicks in and out of overdrive. I think it needs a little boost, I was thinking maybe one of those air aids, k&n filter and a download. Am I on the right track? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

 

it kicks in and out because your converter is going into lockup mode. to solve this problem would be to have the gears swapped out this will ease up on the motor and benefit in miles per gallon. but being a 4 x 4 it will be costly. .
