I am looking for a trail/romp rig. just want to spend less then $2,000 the less the better. nothing crazy only looking for something good running that I can slam some 31's on and have some fun. anything I should avoid or look for in particular. I see these things on craigslist all day long.

I bought mine 88 last year for 400 bucks but it needed front U-joints which was like 50 bucks total. Now I got about 2 grand into now. But I got a 6" lift 318 magnum. 33 tires are in the mail and 4.10 gears. Don't let miles get to you. Most have close or over 200,000 miles on them with nothing wrong. Most things you will see is rust.

thanks, I am definately looking. I can not wait to hit the trails and mess around in the desert without worry of messing up my 40k plus truck. I still off road but it would be cool to really have fun.

def a good buy and right about the high mileage they run forever if you can find a 96 or 99 they are two of the best years i think but look for leaking manifold gaskets and leaking rear main...some have the oil filter elbow leaking so dont confuse the two but other than taht there solid.
