Default Jeep TJ wheels/lift

My Brother-in-law has a 2002 Wrangler
What is a good backspacing for a 31"tire and a 2" lift? I was looking into 15x8" Soft 8 wheels for him. Any help would be appreciated.
He wants to run 12.5" tires, but I think he's better off with 10.5". He just wants the look more than anything. No serious offroading. Minor pothole stuff. P**sy stuff...lol

hahaha, you know what, I had an 05 wrangler, (if i can find a picture i post it here in a sec), but a common solution for the jeepin' world is this...

I had a friend who had a rubicon model, and hwen he lifted his jeep, i took his rubicon wheels, and ran them until i sold the jeep. I actually put on a 3" lift, and did some very technical wheelin as well as snow slush play.

I ran a 295/70/16, and never rubbed, that is unless i was disconnected up front, and was on the verge of teetering.

however, i believe, for that size lift (with would just be coil spacers and shocks), 12.50's are going to be a little too wide. Harder on the front end, 11.50 worked great for me, as well as many other wheelers in the jeep community.

The lift I had: http://www.full-traction.com/detail....ID=382&NOTES=9.. .this kit runs about $500 w/o shocks at four wheel parts... thats without haggling.

lets see if i can find a pic of my old rig...

Thanks for the info.

I found a 2.5" coil spring lift with shocks. Can I just throw those in there or will I need other stuff like steering linkage, brake line stuff...etc..?

2.5" is an awsome setup, are they the JKS adjustables?

You wont need any other lengthening linkage, other than and optional sway bar disconnects. If you go that route, I HIGHLY recommend the JKS 0-2" quick disconnects; great gear.

With a 2.5" spacer lift, the jeep will look really good. What kind of wheel does he have? A 31x11.50 would look great on that setup.

let me know if you have any other questions.

I found a jeep with the rubicon wheels, 2" Budget Boost, and 265/70/16 goodyear MTR's...
