Jeeps The tough off road capability of ANY Jeep model from the Wrangler to the fully loaded Grand Cherokee keeps this cousin of Dodge the king of every hill.

What would cause a jeep to shake and backfire when you start the jeep?

Default What's the online casino with the best player loyalty program?

When I play at Harrah's casino, they give me cash back for my slot machine and video poker play. Do online casinos offer similar loyalty programs?

Welcome to DF
Could have a misfire or a bad crank sensor, thats causing a misfire. Also could a bad coil pack rail too.

As already stated it does sound very much like a misfire which alot of times is due to the spark plugs.

Another thing, does it do it after being restarted after a short period of sitting particularly on a warm day? That's a common problem with those year XJs, My 2000 Cherokee did that a few times. Something with heat being trapped around the number 4 or 3 injector and the fuel vaporizing, causing it to misfire if it was started up before the heat dissipated. Does your parents Jeep throw a Check Engine Light? Mine would, would show that it had a random misfire code.

i have found on chrysler engines with a distributor gets moisture in the cap. .distributor moisture fix. Some chrysler distributor cap that has an air vent, needs to have the vent plugged. Best to use JB-weld. But there might be some brands that run air through as part of the system, dont seal them
