Default Computer ecm and voltage regulator

Hello. My new is Kerie. I'm on here to ask a question for my ol Man. He is wanting to know if you can use the computer ecm from a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a V8? Any help would be great as it is our only vehicle and it will not hold a charge.

Draw on the system somewhere, or, just a bad battery.
