i want to turbo it and make it handle, like a gmc cyclone killer. i already have an off road vehicle and ive never seen anyone do this to a dak before. this truck has so little clearance anyway, and it would take alot of work to lift the front end more than a couple inches.
Gotcha. All I can say is that I'm sure you are going to have make/buy an adapter of some sort. But maybe since DC makes both Jeep and Dodge, you might be able to find one that bolts right up. Check and see what tranny you have, then do a search and try to find a AWD grand cherokee with the same tranny. Where is your front diff located: center, driver or passenger side? I'm 90% positive that all front diffs on grand cherokees are located on the driver side (that's how all the early model ones are). If they are not located on the same side on both rigs, you are going to have to do some major customizing since the T-case will be setup to run where the jeep pumpkin is located.
forgot the number but one out of the same year grand cherokee should bolt up. they use the same v8s as DAKs. . . i would stick with ur case thos and just use the 4 hi when you need too.
that way if something in the front messes up you can go home on 2wd.
also for tighter turns, and better mileage. . . just a thought tho.

I would have to see one of these 249's. I know the 247, 242, 231 and 242j are all interchangable. Some require the swap out of the rear drive shaft also though.
I just found a build up where a guy swapped the 249 (POS as he calls it) for the 242, without too many other parts needed. (He has a list at the bottom of his write up). With this said, I would have to say that you should be able to use any of these TC's. As you are looking for an AWD style though, you have the 247 and the 249. He has a link to the different TC's and the differences between all of them. Here's the link.......
