Default Friend is looking at a Jeep

I have a friend who's looking at an 05' Cherokee with the 3.7 L, 21,800 miles. What are some things I should tell him to look for, and some things to be cautious about if he decides to purchase?

Thanks
JB

If he's intending to lift it at all, I would get an older one. Easier and cheaper. Only real bad thing I've heard from people with them is they don't like the IFS on it.

The Jeep is a very reliable platform, can't think of any real negatives other than they are heavy for their size. It costs the same to lift any of them, there is no difference except the spring height on some of the 02 models. They are the same height however after the lift no matter what rig you have.
Take that back, the original ball joints in the front end of all Libertys leave much to be desired, as they can't be lubed or serviced. When they go get the MOOG replacements with the zerk fittings, they last many time longer. The upper ball joints are part of the upper A arm, you replace the whole thing. There is a fix that uses MOOG greasable upper ball joints.

Just remember that the V6 has no low range.
