Rampage owners
#21
I just bought a 1984 Ranpage..
Almost identical to the one I had in the late eighties except this is a 5 speed manual.
I got it cheap, it has almost 2 new tires, other 2 are in good shape and a new battery. It lived its life in Idaho so it is rustfree. it has AC but the clutch is frozen but i would convert it over to the new freon anyway.
It is surprisingly straight and paint in fairly good condition for such an old car. Trouble is, it runs rough and 2nd gear is hard to get into in. The heater ac control box is bad, previous owner had taken it out and was in process of trying to find a replacement but they are obviously no longer made by Chrysler.
I am taking it into the shop to see if it can be tuned up or if the dreaded curse of the 2.2 engine has occurred which is a cracked head. My mechanic said they are impossibole to find since the engine parts are no longer made.
So, any ideas of a replacement engine I could put in that would fit without major expense? If i can't get it running right will sell it whole or part it out. Ray
