2.2 carb engine
Well, as you have maybe read on the posts, I was toying with the idea of converting my TBI over to a MPFI...
Well, instead, we went to a SDAC convention in New Stanton, PA, and I got alot of stuff, including a non-feedback carb.
Within two weeks, we pulled my 2.5 out of my 93 Shadow racecar. We put the 2.2 in, but with a few problems. After we got the oil pickup tube to fit in the pan, the right flywheel and torque converter, and making som ebrackets for the throttle linkage, we got the car together. However, there seem to be some problems...
The block and head are both bored .030 over. The pistons are 1 millimeter over flat-tops as well. The intake is ported out, and we have a slider cam and rockers, part #4529321, and as stated, there is the non-feedback cam to go along with it.
The only sensors plugged in are the speedometer/tach, gas gauge, coolant temp sensor, and the distributor.
The car does run... However, we had to make up our own firing order, as even when the timing is dead on, the initial stock firing order doesnt even come close to working. The car seems to build RPM's slower than my 2.5, and just doesnt have the kick in the pants.
If anybody has any idea of what to do, or whats up, I would greatly appreciate ANYTHING!!! I am running out of ideas.
Thanks for the help...
Andy
