I hit rock bottom. i had to get a beater car while i work on my shadow and i ended up getting a prelude from my grandfather. I signed up with a honda-tech.com forum(sorry dodge forum)for help with the tranny and three days later they have told me nothing i already knew. so i decided to break the rules and ask the pros.

The troubledcar is a1990 Prelude 2.0Si
My problem: It bounces off the rev limiter while going through first under heavy acceleration until i let off and get back on the throttle checked the tranny fluid and it was a little low added some same problem. it doesnt do this in any other gear. is it just the way the trans is? is there a problem with the trans? or something else?

Who cares Honda's a good car, ok about your trans, well believe it or not that trans is controled by a computer under your passenger seat. Question 1 is your S3 light on the dash on, (its displayed as S3)? Look under your passenger front seat the trans computer is there, with the key on, engine off is there an led light flashing? If that lights flashing there is some kind of code or codes, I would have to find out more info to go any futher.

no there is no code flashing on the computer. also i changed the transmission fluid and added Lucas trans additive and it seemed to help. I have it schedualed it to be checked out by a tranny place and for them to do a service on it

 

ok im going to pick it up from the tranny place it seems she had some performance anxiety because she shifted fine when the trans people took it out. so hopefully ill be able to figure it out before the tranny has some serious problems
