Need help on 2.5 build (again)
The crank sprocket (timing belt / balance shaft) is a star pattern and has no clearance to grip from behind. The puller I have will not match up to the bolt holes, so any way I try makes it just **** over side-ways.I even tried just going around in different positions and tapping with hammer. All the parts stores (Advance / Autozone) just have the same puller I have.
So as it stands now, I cannot get the balance shaft off, therefore cannot put new bearings in my mains. [:@]
I will have to move forward with the rods while the crank stays in the block.
Is there some sort of star-pattern bolt-hole puller out there?
Hasn't someone done this before?
Thanks,
Lee

I finally got it and I am cooking on the front burner once again. It was so easy ! I had my son take the block down to a machine shop. $25. Now I get to have new seals and bearings.
