MPFI 2.2 NA?
So I know they made them in Mexico. But I plan on making my own. A friend has a 2.2 Turbo intake and TB. I plan on making the Shadow MPFI. Firs of all could it even work? And if it can, What I need to know is do I need the turbo computer to fire all injectors? Or is there a way to change my wiring to set it up to fire all 4 injectors without changing the computer.
Look in the yards they made them in the USA to it was the flex fuel verison that got lots of goodies. Plastic gas tank, stainless lines, stailess fuel rail, stainless fpr, and bigger injectors then the turbo cars got but they had the fuel pressure turn down on them.
You can run the engine without the turbo computer you just have to batch fire the injector all at once not the best thing to do but it will run. Go to turbododge.com and look into the N/A section.

You'll need to swap the computer and wiring harness, as obviously the TBI harness will not have injector connectors and TBI fires injectors every half revolution, MPFI batch fires 1 & 3 on one rev, 2 & 4 on the other. Not sure about the distributor compatibility. I also can't tell you for sure that the turbo manifold will bolt up to the N/A head; They're not the same engine.
The whole motor is pretty much the same except for the rods, pistons, and manifolds.
However, Napa does not specify Turbo or NA on the only gasket they show for 2.2.
You don't need that bearing bracket if you run the unequal shafts. Turbo automatic cars didn't get the bracket either.
Some build up a n/a block for there turbo cars. I currently got a n/a cam in my turbo engine since they got a better profile.
