Default 88 K car shocks

I just got new cv axles and joints. However, it turns out i need new shocks and struts. Does anyone know if driving the car without proper shocks/struts will lead to pre-mature cv joint/axle failure?

If they are that bad, replace them anyway, for your own safety. If you have bad mounts, they will help the axles go bad, as it lets the engine move around too much and sag down.

should have gotten the struts done at the same time as the CV joints -- could have saved an alignment. Johnny - he said he needs struts and shocks, not mounts

I know, I said replace them for safety. What I ment is, "IF" he was concerned about the axles going bad, the item that causes that is the mounts. The bad shocks and struts will not cause the axles to go bad, but it is a safety issue.

Other than the car riding badly and handling badly no. But you should replace them.
