By the way, been doing my own online searching and found out that these cars share bolt circle with very few cars with wheels I'd actually want. Looks like aftermarket after all! I may drive this car more than my kid! I want a turbo motor with a stick. This thing shifts into second way before I want it to. I like revs and power pulls. been reading about turbos and really(REALLLLY) want one!

Get a 2.2L Turbo II motor, they are more powerful than you average turbo and are already intercooled.[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]

I've been driving this car for almost two weeks now. Been working on the overheating problem(cooling fan relay and air pockets in the cooling system) It seems to be just as fast and nimble as my wife's Ranger. It's no powerhouse but hey, it was free! I'll get all the bodywork done this spring and then do the interior. I'm building a garage this summer so maybe next winter I'll be able to find a turbo motor to go thru and put in this thing. I'm posting some pics from my driveway.

Cool. That will make a perfect sleeper.[sm=smiley15.gif] What year is the Trans Am, a '78?

Thanks for the kudos. The Trans Am is actually a worn out '79 that got the nose and tail from a '77. I redid that car in my friend's barn. Took forever to do, being that it wasn't at my house. I've got a '71 Nova at the barn now that is waiting for my garage to go up. I wish I could've got my ex-brother-in-law's '71 Cuda when he divorced my sister, but I didn't have the money then. It was just like the one in Aaron Tippin's "Kiss This" video!

I know the '71 Cudas well.[sm=smiley20.gif]I thought that the rear I was seeing was a '77-'78 Trans Am. A friend of mine had a '79 Trans Am Bandit Edition, what a turd, it could barely spin em' in snow and ice with bald tires. It had the 403 Olds boat anchor motor.[sm=smiley11.gif][sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley36.gif]They look bad as hell though.[sm=smiley16.gif]

I know this forum is for Dodges, but the T/A got in the picture and you mentioned it. This one is a 20/20 car(20 feet away/20 mph looks great) but it will do everything seen in "Smokey And The Bandit"(except for the bridge jump and river run!) If you pay attention to the stunts none are done at high speeds, it's all low end torque and a posi rear end.(stock T/As when new would only do 16's in the 1/4) I get kids and their hondas to back down all the time, when I know my wife's '95 Grand Prix would take the T/A. I want to do this K-car to surprise them! My son is stoked! I've been visiting Donovan's Dodge Garage website for info(this guy knows his stuff) He's got a daily driven Daytona in the 12's and a K-car in the 10's! Something like that is high hopes, but it's possible. I'm shopping for a daytona for parts to use in my K. Found one @autotrader.com for $500 (I think) but it's too far away for me to trailer it home. I know I'll find one close to home. BTW keep your Road Runner, had a couple friends that had them and they were badass cars!

I'm taking the Roadrunner with me to the grave if it is at all possible.[sm=smiley2.gif][sm=smiley36.gif]

I have had 4 or 5 different styles of wheels on my silver turbo reliant wagon. You can see some of them here....(to see how they looked!)
