RE: 1992 Acclaim gauges
Yea they do but dont look all that good right now, Im going to put some blue paper in behind them to give them a blue tint..they light up a bright white (my stock gauge faces are off) the setback is #1 getting the needles back to where they belong, #2 they show the spots in the plastic behind them. But yes they do light up (mine are printed on HP Photo Paper) they are just a little too white.

Yea it prints fine out of a regular printer. Truthfully all my plastic is painted with the cheap 94 cent paint from Walmart...Little did I know the **** isnt made for plastic so when I went to re-shoot a few parts it bubbled like hell lol. From what Ive read and know about paint just using primer that is made for plastic should do the job then you can shoot them whatever color you want with whatever paint..No garuntee about that but should work fine, I have read that Krylon is the best paint to use for plastics tho..and a suggestion (one thing I came across myself) make sure that if you paint the parts around the door handle, center bezel, or gauge bezel that you clean the cracks really well otherwise the dust will show up really bad..on a sidenote White looks great but is a b*tch to keep clean!

Did you clear coat it? And yeah. I heard krylon is the best for plastic too. It's designed to bond.

I also heard that if you lightly sand it with a very fine grit paper, the paint will bond even better.

I will have to try that out, Im thinkin about re-doin all mine so it looks even better, I have extra parts for nearly everything aside from the parts that go around the door handles (when I got the car it only had 2 and one was broke, the car at the junkyard only had 3..lol)
