Default 3.0 enging upgrade?

I used to own a plymouth acclaim with the 3.0 and I loved the car, until the trans went... then head gasket. So I've been looking at 5-Speed Shadows with the 3.0. So I was wondering is there a way to upgrade the motor, maybe by taking parts from the 3.0 sohc stealth? Has anyone done this? I ask because I see the stealth is rated about 20 more hp.

The Stealth has different intake and exhaust and it is not easy to get them to work on the Chrysler setup...

A better option is to improve the parts that are there. I do porting on the side. Ported upper and lower intakes make a big improvement.

So does upgrading the throttle body from the stock 46mm to a 52mm, 58mm, or 60mm. The upper intake neck will need to be ported for the 58 or 60mm throttle bodies to work.

The big gain would come with ported heads.

Twin cam head swap. Manifold spacers. TB spacer. Intake. Exhaust.

If the engine you are starting with is a 12-valve, no need to swap to the twin cam head. Plenty of gains to be made with the SOHC head.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to get twin heads then having the sohc heads reworked?

As in purchase the heads themselves? Yes.

As in having a working engine, No. This has been talked about alot on other forums, but there is a lot that needs to change. Some of the highlights include: intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, exhaust piping, ignition system, pistons.

That's why I was asking. From what I'm being told other then doing the timing stuff everything else is compatible. Finally the truth comes out. Thanks

52mm throttle body, port the intake, plenum spacers, intake, 3" exhaust, remove a/c components, port the heads, diamante cams.

Check out Ed at kmperformance for porting stuff, I think he does custom headers too.
