Is this a good CAI setup?

Oh that bend...yeah. AEM/K&N have tons of kits of tons of different models of cars/years. I'm just going through the lists trying to see if I can find one that might fit. They have very little documentation on these intake kits, so it'll be hit or miss...I suppose I could make my own somehow...But I'd rather just buy one and get it over with.

That's just a representative model, not really what I'd put in. Yeah, air doesn't like to make sudden left turns.

Seems like a lot of time, money and dinking around for no gain other than being 'cool'. I'd put my time and efforts into a manual trans conversion.

Not trying to be "cool". I was just looking for a semi-inexpensive modification.

I have to replace an assload of other things before I do anything. The brakes are pretty messed up. I'm going to start by replacing the physical brakes themselves, (front and back), and if that doesn't do the trick, I'll try getting a new brake booster + cylinder. The car stalls out at very low RPMs and also at very high RPMs. I'm not sure what is to blame for that. I'm thinking fuel pump @ high RPMs and maybe spark plugs/ignition system @ low RPMs, but that could be wrong.

There's a crap load of rust under the hood. It doesn't look like it from my pictures, but the exhaust manifolds are falling apart. I'm thinking new manifolds + pipes + catty + muffler. But that will be pricey.

Can you or anyone else tell me what that small rusty tank in the bottom left corner is? I can't seem to find out what that does. It too is about 80% rust.

The Auto transmission just got replaced about 5 years ago...not sure if I really want to do that yet. But, its definitley a consideration?

I've never done an AT>MT swap...How do I pick out a transmission?

You're wasting time with performance enhancing ideas before you even have a decent dependable vehicle? That makes no sense at all. You should really start with asking how to fix the problems before making new self induced problems.

I don't run by pipe dream theoreticals. Make your car work properly, make it reliable, then start playing with the dreams you are having about performance up grades, and CAI's and tuner exhaust.

Check out my acclaim pics. I have my intake set up above the rear mani. I'm gonna put a heat sheild under it. It gets air directly from my hood scoop. My set up the way it is made a noticeable difference in response and seems to have opened up the high end.

Moving the battery and running it behind the headlight is also an option.

Fair warning: Intakes on the 3.0 are very loud at idle. At least mine is.

Check out www.turbododge.com/forums/f69 you'll find info on flipping the plenum. This will give you more intake options
