Default Is this a good CAI setup?

My '93 3.0L Spirit has a pretty roomy engine compartment, but there's just always something in the way when I try to route out a CAI setup. Power brake booster, battery, throttle-related stuff...

I'm planning on using a K&N Apollo or something similar, which uses a plastic/composite tube and an induction filter.

I don't see the point of metal pipes...Wouldn't that just heat up the air?

Anyway, is there such thing as having a CAI setup that is too long? How do you think this would fare?

Ideas?

Thanks.

I really wasn't asking for any wise comments....

Constructive criticism is best. Thanks.

Ok, then if you need your ego stroked, that's a great design, you should patent it and you'll be rich. I can't imagine any 3.0 owner not beating a path to your door.

My man, I didn't ask for you to tell me it was good. Seriously...wow...I've never been on a forum where there have been people who felt like they had to say things like this.

Well, sorrrrry. I hate CAI systems like that. If you want to make power, then you need to move the battery and put the filter there with an insulated box and a ram system off the front bumper. Your setup has so much pipe over the rear of exhaust manifold which will heat up the air and totally defeat the pupose of a CAI. Also all them bends will cause air restriction also totally defeating the dreams you are having. What you want to do to boost power is get a Nos setup, add a carbon fiber wing, some neons, a set of 20's and a turbo kit.

Well, that's why I was looking for input. I didn't think it was any good, but I was wondering what improvements would be.

Yes, I rediscovered the art of moving the battery to the trunk. And, I'm thinking now, that I would put in a AEM Short RAM that would go in place of the battery.

Why not built a battery braket to put the battery on the passenger side? a little re-routing an A/C hose and there's plenty of room The way your cute picture looks, will be pulling in hot air off the radiator which also totally defeats what you think you want to gain with this fancy CAI. You won't have the C in the equation. And 90° bends are not conducive for efficient air flow. The smartest thing you should do with this car is put a manual trans in it. Then you'll have a ton more power.

You make a good point. The passenger's side of the engine compartment has quite a bit of space, just about enough for a battery, but nothing else. So I'll see if I can get 2-3 feet of 0 AWG and see if I can get something happening. I don't have a problem with putting it in the trunk but then I'd have to pay for a sealed box, and like 20ft of 0AWG + distribution blocks and whatnot.

The CAI pipe bends downwards towards the ground. I couldn't draw that, but it does.

I know how a CAI system is orientated but I'm saying the 90° bend off the throttle is not how a good one would be orientated.
