hi</P>


i have dodge spirit 89 auto,4 cyl 2.5 l..</P>


last time i fixed the timing belt,now when i drive the light check engine is on and the oil light is onand on till i turn the ignition off and start again.i check the oil it is max..no need for oil. what is wrong?</P>

If you haven't already try disconnecting the battery negative cable for 5min. and then reconnect it and see if the check engine light is still on. If it is still on check the computer to see what is wrong. If you do not know how to check it see my post in Intrepid,Neon&Stratus forum under My Neon is sick...Help? I tell how to check the computer.

You think it could have something to do with that apparent headgasket problem? Either that or your engine has some serious internal wear in the bearings that is not allowing you to have enough oil pressure. Thats worst case senario of course

you can pull your codes via you ignition key to see what the problem is . To do this you must turn ignition on , off , on ,off, and then on your codes will start to flash before your eyes all Chryslers after 1984 have this feature no need to see the local rapist <IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0"> Caravansasleepr
