Opps..forgot the code 55.
Yeah 87indy500 think im doing the nippo route with it, found one for a good price going to pick it up tomorrow, and hopefully install it this weekend.
I Know this car is about to have me doing one of two things,
1, find a sucker and sell it to him,
2. Pull all my hair out!
It throwed the timing belt last wekend when i was messing with it, seems that the idler pulley froze up from what i can tell, but it moves easy when i got it off, but going to replace it anyway. And i ordered a new head gasket, gasket set and head bolts for it while i was at it. I do remember how much the old 2.2's blew head gaskets, even the turbo 2.2's were notorious for it.
I found some good sites for the 2.2 and older front wheel dodges that i'm posting, its mostly engine, tranny parts with a few for body parts and exhaust parts, but they have some good prices,

I'm having a problem with my 86 Dodge 600: it's needing starter fluid just to start and then, when running, acts like it's starving. I took it to Autozone for diagnostics and they suggested a "vehicle speed sensor" which my book doesn't even show the Dodge having. Help?

UPdate...got the nippo in...no go...still doing the same thing as before...This project is turning into a #$%^...But i refuse to give in. Had the paint done, replaced the top and back glass, having the seats recovered and redoing the interior as far as carpet and insturment panel.....kind of like doing a resto on a 60's mopar...but with more wires...

Well, It looks as if its time to consult a factor service manual and start running some test's. The are fairly easy to do. The manual gives you good step-by-step instruction on how to perform the tests. You will need access to a multi-meter to do most them.
I am going to guess that its one of three things
1. Bad ground (you did check all of the grounds, correct??)
2. Faulty Powermodule (switch with another and re-check)
3. Faulty Logicmodule (switch with another and re-check)

ok heres were im at now...loading the shotgun and going to have some fun!....seriously after beating my brains out it turns out that the main hot wire and believe the a/c relay hot wire..not sure...were touching or grounding out, but any way they had rubbed thru the insulation deep in the wiring loom...so every time i would try a diffrent power module it would short it out...but now everyting is ok with the car and i recommend the nipo upgrade on the alternator, makes the lights brighter and the charging seems to not be so over taxed as with the stock alt, no dimming lights, headlights blinking wiht the blinkers, fixed it all...the real kicker is that i saw one go on ebay for $1000.......running driving 70 thou orginal miles....should have waited!

Glad to see that you found the culprit. Lets see some pic's of the car
One thing to remeber is that anyone can buy a car, but only some can fix it......You don't learn anything buy just buying another.
