Well I finally tied the knot with me and my Shadow. I went and got my licence switched, insurance for the Shadow, and registered it to get my plates.

I drove it down to the mechanic I know, he took it for a drive and figured the problem was the gear kick-down cable. Theres also a loud wiening noise when I drive, i thought it was the fan, but it was really loud, the mechanic said it was most likely either the filter (not sure which one) needed to be cleaned, or that there was high pressure in the vavle box?

This guy is an old fella, I guess he was a transmission specialist and worked for Dodge most of his life, I heard alot of good things about him, so what do you guys think?

The whining noise is how it at started with my transmission, It whined and I thought it sounded pretty sweet (it would only do it in 1st and 2nd gear in the higher rpms). I thought it was my cold air intake sucking in alot of air at the higher rpms but come to find out it was the transmission going out. Anyhow congrats on gettting the car, you got pics of it yet?

 

Thanks fellas. Well I got the car back, I payed 60 dollars, the gear kickdown cable was rusted, and the whining noise was from a clogged filter (not sure if its fuel or not) but anyways, it works great now.

nice lookin car. when i see the shadows and such posted around i start to miss my 89 sundance i had.
