Default Performance mods to a 2.2Litre engine

What are any performance modifications that I could do to my 2.2litre? I'am thinking I may try and keep this car, so I might turn it into a project.

http://home.comcast.net/~ozspeed/index.htm put the 2.0L head on the 2.2L block and you can put bolt on stuff for a neon onto the top end of your engine (exhaust, intake, throttle body, cams, etc) plus two cams tends to give you more power.

Ok, sounds pretty interesting, would my 3- speed transmission hold up to it? and do ya know how much work it would take? maybe a weekend in the garage?

The DOHC 2.0L engine has about 140hp, the 2.2/2.5 has 90-100hp. I would imagine the transmission should hold up to another 40hp, but you might want to search around for the answer on that (if the trans can stand up to a turbo it will be fine with the DOHC). You can email the person that made that site (the email link is at the bottom of the link I posted) for more info and what trans they have.
I would plan on a weekend for getting the DOHC head and suipporting parts(junkyard searching) then prepping them for install and another weekend to install it, you probably could get it done in one weekend but planing for extra time is always a good idea.

The SOHC would produce less power than a DOHC.
My guess is the SOHC and DOHC have the same block, so they should be similar...
TO make sure I would ask in the Neon section and read through http://www.allpar.com/mopar/2.html and http://www.allpar.com/mopar/2dohc.html for more info on the 2.0 DOHC and SOHC heads.

The sohc and dohc blocks on a neon are identical. Your trans should hold up as long as your not beating on it and doin any neutral bombs or anything like that. If you do this motor swap take pictures, I'm curious to see what it will look like. My 99 Neon has the 2.0 DOHC in it and I love it, other than the ECU shutting the motor off at 118mph its quick lol.. If you end up keeping the stock motor in your shadow let me know if you want a cold air intake, I will get a few pics of it if you need but I'm selling my Shadow soon and the CAI doesnt go with... Lookin to get like 30-40 bux + shipping if interested email me.
